Cincinnati Football: Multiple players enter transfer portal in aftermath of spring practice
By Charles Post
Since the spring scrimmage took place last weekend, several players decided to enter the transfer portal including linebacker Jaheim Thomas, safety Armorion Smith and more.
Thomas spent two seasons at Cincinnati and was expected to compete for a starting spot next year but it appears the coaching staff preferred linebackers Jack Dingle and Dorian Jones.
Smith showed off his potential with an interception in the Fenway Bowl last December but the Bearcats will seemingly lean on safeties DJ Taylor, Bryon Threats and Taj Ward instead.
Cincinnati freshman cornerbacks Jonah Lytle and Malik Rainey also recently entered the transfer portal, and there will likely be several other players to do so in the coming weeks.
