Cincinnati Football: New Mexico transfer linebacker Dion Hunter commits to the Bearcats

New Mexico transfer linebacker Dion Hunter announced his commitment to join the Cincinnati Bearcats on Friday afternoon and is expected to have two years of eligibility left!
Hunter compiled 114 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and three sacks in three years at New Mexico, highlighted by a career-high 13 tackles against Fresno State last year.
The New Mexico native will add depth and experience to the Bearcats linebacker room alongside Jack Dingle and Daved Jones Jr, plus fellow incoming transfer Dorian Jones.

Since the spring scrimmage took place last month, several former Bearcats entered the portal including senior quarterback Ben Bryant and sophomore linebacker Jaheim Thomas.
Despite recovering from a season-ending broken foot, Bryant is expected to be fully healthy by the beginning of fall camp and will have one year of eligibility left at Northwestern.
Thomas spent two years at Cincinnati and was projected to compete for a starting spot next season but it appears the coaching staff preferred Dingle and Jones instead.
Cincinnati Football: Bearcats land Connecticut leading receiver Aaron Turner from transfer portal
Following his sophomore campaign, former Connecticut Huskies leading receiver Aaron Turner announced his decision to transfer to the Bearcats last month!
Turner led the Huskies with 527 receiving yards, 57 receptions and three touchdowns last season, highlighted by a 53-yard touchdown catch against Syracuse in September.
Other players that decided to enter the portal in recent weeks included freshman linebacker Cam Junior, freshman cornerback Malik Rainey and freshman safety Armorion Smith.
