Following the 2023 NBA Draft last night, former Bearcats star forward Landers Nolley II agreed to a free agent contract with the New Orleans Pelicans!

Nolley is expected to participate in the NBA Summer League in early July and will have a chance to earn a spot on the Pelicans roster entering next season.

San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama was selected with the top overall pick and is the overwhelming favorite to win NBA Rookie of the Year.

There were several draft picks that faced Nolley last season including Indiana Pacers forward Jarace Walker and Utah Jazz forward Taylor Hendricks.

After starting his career at Virginia Tech, Nolley spent two years at Memphis before ending up with the Bearcats and developing into a NBA prospect.

During his lone season at Cincinnati, Nolley scored a team-high 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game en route to receiving All-AAC First Team honors.

Nolley became the eighth player in Cincinnati history to earn a spot on the All-AAC First Team after knocking down 42.3 percent from 3-point range last season.

Wes Miller’s team is set to bring back multiple key players heading into the Big 12 including veteran frontcourt duo Viktor Lakhin and Ody Oguama.

Cincinnati Basketball: Johns Hopkins head coach Josh Loeffler joins the Bearcats coaching staff

Check out our reaction to the Bearcats recent decision to hire assistant coach Josh Loeffler to replace Mike Roberts next season!

Due to his blend of experience and expertise, Loeffler is expected to bring a significant boost to the coaching staff next season and beyond.

Loeffler’s style places an emphasis on attention to detail and player development, which will certainly benefit Cincinnati going forward.

Roberts reportedly won’t have his contract renewed after two years but the Bearcats should find success following the addition of Loeffler.
