Cincinnati should be able to pull away eventually but Eastern Kentucky’s offense has to be taken seriously in the regular season opener next month.
Eastern Kentucky is coming off a 7-5 campaign that continued to show progress as the offense racked up 36.2 points and 452.5 yards per game.
It will be difficult to contain Eastern Kentucky’s high-powered offense so Bryan Brown’s defense must avoid mistakes and limit explosive plays.
Scott Satterfield’s coaching staff must make sure the entire team is energized and focused or the Colonels could make it competitive a game.
Cincinnati Football: Eastern Kentucky’s offense could cause issues for the Bearcats early on
Led by star quarterback Parker McKinney and running back Braedon Sloan, Eastern Kentucky might create problems for Cincinnati early on.
McKinney set school records with 3,956 passing yards and 33 touchdowns en route to earning Atlantic Sun Co-Offensive Player of the Year.
Other players to watch in the upcoming matchup include linebacker Chase Lasater, plus wide receivers Cornelius McCoy and Jaden Smith.
The Bearcats should be confident but can’t be complacent while preparing for Eastern Kentucky with the season opener quickly approaching.
