As the regular season opener approaches, the Cincinnati Bearcats announced four team captains ahead of the inaugural Big 12 campaign!
Bearcats defensive duo Jowon Briggs and Dontay Corleone are captains alongside quarterback Emory Jones and center Gavin Gerhardt.

Jones was named the Bearcats starting quarterback in April, while Gerhardt is the only returning starter from the offensive line last year.

Gerhardt was thrust into the starting center role in training camp last fall after Jake Renfro suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Jones displayed dual threat ability at Florida and Arizona State in recent years, and will look to lead the Bearcats new-look offense.
Scott Satterfieldβs spread-style scheme should give Jones a chance to find success in the passing attack and through the ground game.
With less than a week until the regular season officially kicks off, the Bearcats are continuing to gear up to take on Eastern Kentucky.
