After leading by double digits for most of the night, the Cincinnati Bearcats survived a comeback to secure a 27-21 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers!

Corey Kiner compiled a career-high 153 rushing yards and one touchdown on 20 carries to fuel the Bearcats to a victory against the former Big East foe.

Despite struggling to find an offensive rhythm in the fourth quarter, Cincinnati found a way to fend off Pittsburgh’s comeback down the stretch.

Jack Dingle came up clutch with a team-high seven tackles, highlighted by a pivotal sack to stop a potential game-winning drive in the final minutes.

Even though the offense wasn’t nearly as effective in the second half, Emory Jones continued to play at a high level with two touchdown passes.

Heading into the fourth quarter with a double digit advantage, it appeared Cincinnati would coast to a victory before Pittsburgh cut into the deficit.

Jowon Briggs and Dontay Corleone were able to pressure Panthers quarterback Phil Jurkovec, combing for seven tackles and two sacks in the win.

Scott Satterfield’s team made just enough plays in the fourth quarter to remain in front and eventually ensure a victory in the River City Rivalry.

Following the impressive performance on Saturday night, Satterfield broke down the Bearcats win over Pittsburgh via Cincinnati Athletics!

"“It was a complete team win tonight and what it’s going to take against a good football team on the road. Very excited. That’s a really good road win for the Bearcats. I know it’s early in the season but it’s a really solid win. We’re proud of our coaches and players for how they prepared this week and came in here and got this win. We want to give props to Pitt. We knew what kind of team we were going to come in here and play. When we got up 27-7, I knew it wasn’t going to be over. They have a lot of pride in their program and you’re playing in their place. I’m really proud of the way our guys played.”"
