During a press conference, Cincinnati Bearcats running back Ryan Montgomery and safety Taj Ward looked ahead to the Big 12 opener.

In order to pull off an upset against the perennial conference contender, Cincinnati must fix the red zone troubles and play soundly in the secondary.

Satterfield’s team struggled to score in the red zone and the Redhawks were able to take advantage of missed opportunities throughout the game.

The Bearcats will try to put together a solid week of practice and get back on track in the Big 12 opener against Oklahoma on Saturday at Nippert Stadium.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Cincinnati opened as 14.5-point underdogs with the over/under total currently projected at 57.5 points prior to kick off.

Bryan Brown’s defense must be ready to face a difficult test but it’s a chance to showcase their resiliency against an extremely explosive offense.

Coming off a disappointing loss to Miami last week, the Bearcats are looking to bounce back in the Big 12 opener against 16th ranked Oklahoma!

Montgomery reacted to his performance against Miami and previewed the matchup with Oklahoma in a weekly press conference via Cincinnati Athletics.

The Bearcats running back racked up a season-high 101 rushing yards on 19 carries but it wasn’t enough to secure a 17th consecutive victory over rival Miami.

"“It was awesome individually but we lost at the end of the day so just trying to take that for what it is. The coaches roll with the hot hand and that’s just what it ended up being. The offensive line did a really good job. We have a really good Oklahoma team coming in here. We’re very excited. Everything we want is right in front of us. We have a really good team coming in but we’re really good too. We’re just trying to take this week day by day and know that what we have here is good enough. They are coached well and have a good defense. They are going to throw a lot at us. It definitely feels like one of those games but this is what we look forward to so I think we’ll be ready.”"
