Following a competitive opening half, the Cincinnati Bearcats hope to mount a comeback in the second half against the Baylor Bears on Saturday evening!

Scott Satterfield’s team trailed 20-14 at halftime but the offense started to find a rhythm midway through the first half to stay within striking distance at home.

The Bearcats took a 7-3 lead in the second quarter as quarterback Emory Jones connected with wide receiver Xzavier Henderson for a 4-yard touchdown.

With a chance to cut into the deficit before halftime, Cincinnati running back Myles Montgomery showed off his elusiveness with a 38-yard touchdown run.

Bearcats wide receiver Braden Smith fumbled a kick off return in the first half that Baylor recovered and took back for a touchdown to take a 17-7 lead.

It appeared Baylor would pull away after going up by double digits in the second quarter but the Bearcats played with enough energy to remain within reach.

There were several notable performances in the first half highlighted by Cincinnati safety Deshawn Pace racking up a game-high seven tackles and one sack.

It will be key for Bryan Brown’s defense to contain Baylor’s dynamic offense that is led by quarterback Blake Shapen and wide receiver Monaray Baldwin.
