Cincinnati Bearcats back up quarterback Brady Lichtenberg could play this weekend as starting signal caller Emory Jones continues to struggle.

Jones threw for 117 yards and one interception on an abysmal 37.5 percent completion rate last week before being replaced early in the fourth quarter.

Lichtenberg wasn’t exactly lights out in clean up duty but did lead a scoring drive that resulted in a 21-yard touchdown at the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

The Toledo native finished with 48 passing yards and one touchdown in less than one quarter, and should earn more snaps as the season nears a completion.

Cincinnati Football: Bearcats should be able to stay competitive against conference rival UCF

Cincinnati should be able to keep it competitive this week but it definitely won’t be easy for the defense to slow down UCF’s up-tempo offensive attack.

Following an impressive start to the regular season, the Bearcats are still searching for the first Big 12 win after suffering a sixth straight loss last week.

Since becoming conference rivals during their time in the AAC throughout the last decade, the teams have split eight past games with a 4-4 all-time record.

The former AAC rivals are scheduled to face off for the ninth time in program history as each team is looking to earn the first ever victory in Big 12 play!
