Even though it has been a frustrating season under Satterfield, the Bearcats showed their resiliency in a 24-14 win over the Big 12 foe Houston Cougars.

Bearcats cornerback Jordan Young made a significant impact with five tackles and a pass break up that led to a critical interception by linebacker Dorian Jones.

Cincinnati star running back Corey Kiner posted a game-high 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns to help fuel the way to a historic win at Houston.

In addition to dominating on the ground, Cincinnati was able to create several turnovers as safety Ken Willis clinched the win with his first interception.

There is obviously a long way to go until the program is competing for championships again but the win at Houston was a massive step in the right direction.

"“I’m really proud of our guys tonight. It was a struggle during this seven-game skid that we had but our guys continued to fight and play for each other. It would be really easy to throw in the towel and just play for next year but our guys continued to fight and I love it. I’m really proud of our defense to hold these guys to 240 yards and to get three interceptions was huge. We’ve been losing the turnover battle so for us to win that was a key to the game. Hats off to our defense for the way they played. We have been very close in a lot of games this year and couldn’t get over the hump. To get that win on the road says a lot about our guys. Corey Kiner really ran hard tonight trying to break tackles and both quarterbacks were very efficient. It took everybody tonight. I’m really proud of our guys and excited to get this first Big 12 win.”"
