Cincinnati Bearcats transfer center Aziz Bandaogo made an impact during his season debut with eight points and a team-high nine rebounds this week!

Prior to announcing his transfer to Cincinnati during the offseason, Bandaogo began his career at Akron and then transferred to Utah Valley over a year ago.

The Senegal product played at the NBA Academy in Africa before moving to the United States years ago and eventually joining the Bearcats this season.

Wes Miller’s team shot 14/35 from 3-point territory and racked up 36 points off the bench to go with 20 points off turnovers throughout a double digit win.

After a competitive first half, Cincinnati caught fire from beyond the arc and eventually blew past the Yellow Jackets to remain unbeaten so far this year.

Bearcats center Viktor Lakhin had a game-high 15 points on 5/6 shooting from beyond the arc, while small forward John Newman III compiled 12 points.

Even though it’s early in the season, Cincinnati was able to display their ability to play at a high level on both ends of the floor against a quality opponent.

The Bearcats started the second half on a dominant 37-5 run that included three consecutive triples by guard CJ Fredrick to help put the game out of reach.

Cincinnati took a 40-32 lead over Georgia Tech into the locker room before opening the second half on a huge run en route to picking up a fifth straight win!

Fredrick finished with 11 points and two rebounds on 3/5 shooting from 3-point distance, all of which came during the opening stretch of the second half.

It was an impressive performance from the Bearcats as 11 different players got in the scoring column and everyone contributed in the commanding victory.

There is still plenty of room for improvement moving forward but it seems like the program is continuing to make progress with Big 12 play around the corner.
