Cincinnati Football: Corey Kiner surpasses 1,000 rushing yards in season-ending loss
By Charles Post
Cincinnati native and Bearcats running back Corey Kiner became the 13th player in school history to surpass the 1,000-yard milestone this season!
Even though it was a disappointing inaugural Big 12 campaign, Kiner was one of the bright spots and that momentum should continue into his senior year.
Kiner eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the sixth time this year, racking up a team-high 106 rushing yards on 18 carries as the season officially came to a close.
The Cincinnati product and former Roger Bacon High School standout is the first Bearcats running back to have 1,000 rushing yards since Jerome Ford in 2021.

Cincinnati linebacker Jonathan Thompson compiled a team-high with eight total tackles including a pair of tackles for loss during the blowout loss to Kansas.
It was a fitting way to end one of the worst seasons in recent memory as the Bearcats wrapped up Scott Satterfield’s first year with an abysmal 3-9 record.
Kansas took a double digit lead into halftime before outscoring Cincinnati 21-6 in the fourth quarter to create separation and eventually take home a win.
There is a long way to go until the program is back to competing for championships and that became clear throughout the disappointing season-ending loss.

During the postgame press conference, Satterfield reacted to the season-ending loss to Kansas and looked ahead to next year per Cincinnati Athletics.
In addition to struggling offensively, the Bearcats failed to slow down Kansas’ offensive attack that finished with 562 total yards and 312 rush yards.
"“I’m looking forward to fixing it this offseason. The reason we lost a lot of games this season was from undisciplined play and not doing the things we need to give ourselves a chance and that happened again tonight. Those are things we are going to clean up. It’s unacceptable.”"
