Cincinnati Football: Chamon Metayer enters transfer portal following sophomore season

Cincinnati Bearcats sophomore tight end Chamon Metayer decided to enter the transfer portal after experiencing a breakout campaign this season.

Even though it resulted in a disappointing outcome, Metayer showcased his ability with a career-best 59 receiving yards and two touchdowns against BYU.

Metayer was a 3-star prospect out of North Miami High School before signing with the Bearcats over Miami, Kentucky and West Virginia via 247 Sports.

The first player to reveal his decision to enter the portal was Metayer, who finished the season with 258 yards and a team-high five touchdown catches.

Cincinnati Football: Bearcats lose multiple players to transfer portal in recent days

Anderson went down with a season-ending injury in the opener and missed his entire junior year, despite claiming he was able to play in a social media post.

Montgomery was third on the Bearcats with 428 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 66 carries, highlighted by a 63-yard score at Oklahoma State.

Pace posted a team-high 80 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and one interception this year, while playing a hybrid safety position for the first time in his career.

Wodtly was a major part of the defensive front with 31 tackles and three sacks in his sophomore year in 2022 before having a diminished role this season.
