The Cincinnati Bearcats have added another player to the roster for the 2026-27 season after all 13 players from the 2025-26 season either graduated or transferred. Jayden Hastings is coming from Boston College, where he averaged 6.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks over 31 games, playing an average of 22.6 minutes over those games. Hastings came down to Cincinnati and Texas Tech and chose the Bearcats.

The 6-foot-9, 240-pound center from Orlando, Florida, has a big upside for the Bearcats, who are in need of big men for next season after the departure of Moustapha Thiam and Baba Miller, who both moved on after big seasons last year. Hastings best game of the season came in an 81-73 overtime win against Syracuse, where he scored 10 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and added two blocks and 3 steals. His defensive IQ and motor is something that the Bearcats missed the past 5 seasons with Wes Miller at the helm, something that Jerrod Calhoun is making sure he addresses going into his first season.

Hastings was a 3-star recruit out of IMG Academy, playing alongside and against a lot of high-level talent since his high school days. 247 Sports has him rated as a 4-star transfer, with a rating of 0.900.

Boston College finished 17th out of 18 in the ACC last season, only ahead of Georgia Tech, missing out on the ACC tournament. The Eagles hired longtime Dan Hurley Assistant Luke Murray, son of Bill Murray, who was on the short list of candidates for the Cincinnati job.
