The Cincinnati Bearcats hosted Brody Jones, a 3-star cornerback from the class of 2026 for a visit this past weekend. The Bearcats extended an offer to Jones all the way back in April.

Jones attended Fayetteville High School in Arkansas, where he played defensive back and wide receiver, but is being recruited heavily for his defensive back abilities. At 6-foot-four, 200 pounds, Jones has great size and strength to play defensive back at an elite level. Jones strives at press man coverage but is also fast enough to sit between two zones in coverage. Jones has the athleticism to be a huge impact player if the ball is ever thrown in his direction, something that rarely happens when he is in man or zone coverage.

Jones finished his junior season tallying 35 tackles, 7 pass breakups, 2 sacks, 4 tackles for a loss, 3 interceptions, and only allowed 1 touchdown. Jones' versatility as an athlete allows him to line up out wide or in the slot and can guard receivers, running backs, tight ends, and play as a QB spy.

Jones chose Cincinnati over schools like Memphis, Tulane, Tulsa, and UNLV, Cincinnati being the lone power 4 program to offer him so far.

Jones is the third defensive back to commit to the Bearcats in the class of 2026, along with Jaidon Windom and Xavier Starks. Jones is the most sought-after prospect among the three and is the second-highest ranked player to commit to Cincinnati thus far.

Scott Satterfield has put together the Big 12’s 13th-best recruiting class and the nation's 67th-best recruiting class, both numbers down from last season. The Bearcats have 11 commitments in the class of 2026 so far and are expected to add anywhere from 17 to 20 in total.
