The Cincinnati Bearcats looked to turn a corner this season, 8 games in with a 7-1 record, ranked No. 17 in the country, and a chance at the Big 12 Championship in the back of everyone's mind. The Bearcats would finish the season with their most difficult 4-game stretch of the season, playing at Utah, then back at home for Arizona and BYU, and back on the road again for TCU.

As everyone knows, the Bearcats would fall apart in these final four games, going 0-4 and being outscored 146 to 75. This has been a recurrence under Bearcats' head coach Scott Satterfield. Last season, the Bearcats started 5-2, coming off a win against the eventual Big 12 champions, Arizona State. The Bearcats would lose their final 5 and finish 5-7.

Scott Satterfield is under contract through the 2028 season, and if he doesn't turn it around, he will likely be out as the Bearcats' head coach as early as next season. This is the most talented and complete team he has had in his three years in Cincinnati, and they imploded at the finish line.

With a lot of key pieces either graduating or likely to enter the Transfer Portal, Satterfield will have his work cut out for him next season.
