16. Oklahoma State Cowboys (1-4, 0-2)

15. West Virginia Mountaineers (2-4, 0-3)
The West Virginia Mountaineers lost their third straight Big 12 game last weekend when they travelled to Provo, Utah, to take on BYU. The No. 23-ranked Cougars would go on to win 38-24, plummeting the Mountaineers into last place with the Colorado Buffaloes.
14. Colorado Buffaloes (2-4, 0-3)
Deion Sanders and Colorado traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on TCU, both teams looking for their first Big 12 win. TCU would pull ahead in the fourth quarter, winning by a final score of 35-21, despite an early 14-0 Colorado lead.
13. Kansas State Wildcats (2-4, 1-2)
The Kansas State Wildcats played on the road in Waco, Texas, this week, where they faced off against the Baylor Bears. In a game where the Wildcats outgained their opponents, won the possession battle, committed fewer turnovers, had less penalty yardage, and were more successful on third down, they still found a way to lose. By a final score of 35-34, the Wildcats would lose their second conference game of the year.
12. UCF Knights (3-2, 0-2)
The UCF Knights hosted the Kansas Jayhawks this past week, looking for their first conference win after losing to Kansas State the week before. The Knights would lose 27-20, falling to 3-2 overall, but travel to Cincinnati next week to take on an old American Conference rival.
11. Arizona Wildcats (4-1, 1-1)
The Arizona Wildcats blew out the Oklahoma State Cowboys 41-13 to get their first conference win of the season. The Wildcats, at 4-1, have a ton of room to make a run for the Big 12; their upcoming game against BYU is their biggest of the season.
10. Houston Cougars (4-1, 1-1)
The Houston Cougars lost their first conference game of the season this week after falling to the No. 11 Texas Tech Red Raiders at home this past weekend. By a final score of 35-11, the Cougars never made this game feel close, but have an easy one this weekend when they take on Oklahoma State.
9. Kansas Jayhawks (4-2, 2-1)
The Jayhawks bounced back after losing to the Cincinnati Bearcats at home last week when they traveled to and beat the UCF Knights. Kansas travels to Lubbock, Texas, to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a FOX primetime game. This game will tell a lot about what kind of team the Jayhawks are.
8. Baylor Bears (4-2, 2-1)
After beating the Kansas State Wildcats by a final score of 35-34, the Baylor Bears have won 4 of their last 5 games, and are on the come-up in the Big 12. The Bears are going into a bye week before they prepare for a road trip when they travel to TCU and Cincinnati in their next two Big 12 games.
7. Utah Utes (4-1, 1-1)
The Utah Utes handled business this past week against West Virginia, winning 48-14, cementing themselves as a team to be taken seriously in the Big 12. The Utes have their biggest test of the season this week when they host the Arizona State Sun Devils and then travel to Provo, Utah, to take on BYU. The next couple of games are very important for Utah, but good thing they had a bye week to prepare for the tough upcoming stretch.
6. Iowa State Cyclones (5-1, 2-1)
The Iowa State Cyclones traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio, to take on the Bearcats, where they would be just shy of a 24-7 comeback, losing 38-30 in one of the best Big 12 games of the short season. The Cyclones dropped 8 spots in the AP Poll from 14 to 22. The Cyclones travel to Boulder, Colorado, in what seems like an easy, bounce-back win for Iowa State.
5. TCU Horned Frogs (4-1, 1-1)
The TCU Horned Frogs hosted the Colorado Buffaloes this past week, winning 35-21 in a game that seemed closer than the final score. TCU got its first Big 12 win of the season, and will look for its second when they travel to Manhattan, Kansas, next week to take on the Wildcats.
4. Cincinnati Bearcats (4-1, 2-0)
The Cincinnati Bearcats won their biggest game of the season, upsetting the No. 14-ranked Iowa State Cyclones 38-30 in a fantastic offensive performance. Since losing to Nebraska in week one, the Bearcats have improved every week, making a real case as a Big 12 contender. The Bearcats host UCF this upcoming week before traveling to Oklahoma State. If the Bearcats win both of those games, which they should, we could see the Bearcats crack the top 3 of the power rankings.
3. BYU Cougars (5-0, 2-0)
The BYU Cougars travelled to Morgantown, West Virginia, to take on the Mountaineers. BYU handled business, winning 38-24. BYU true freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier passed for 351 yards, having his best game of the year. BYU takes on Arizona this week, a game that could get out of hand for either team.
2. Arizona State Sun Devils (4-1, 2-0)
The Arizona State Sun Devils travel to Utah to take on the Utes in would should be the best Big 12 game next week. After taking on the Utes, the Red Raiders travel to Tempe, Arizona, to take on the Sun Devils. This is the most important 2-game stretch of the season for Arizona State, and they need to perform to still have a chance at the Big 12 title.
1. Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-0, 2-0)
The Texas Tech Red Raiders jumped all the way to No. 9 on the AP Poll after defeating an undefeated Houston Cougars team 35-11, in Houston. The Red Raiders have the most expensive roster in the Big 12, and they are playing like it. Next week, Texas Tech hosts the Kansas Jayhawks in what should be one of the better Big 12 games of the week.
