The Cincinnati Bearcats enter their final four games of the season, which is their hardest stretch of games this year. Their defense is starting to take form, giving them a great chance to make a run for the College Football Playoff.
In the Bearcats' 41-20 victory over the Baylor Bears, they held the country's best passing offense to just 137 passing yards, their lowest in a game dating back to last season. The Bears average 344.3 passing yards per game, passing for more than 200 yards under their season average.
The Cincinnati Bearcats' secondary, highlighted by Logan Wilson, Matthew McDoom, and Jaquan Sanks, has been very impressive after a couple of tough games to start the season against Kansas, Iowa State, and UCF.
The Cincinnati Bearcats take on the No. 24-ranked Utah Utes this week before going on a bye week. They then host the Arizona Wildcats and the BYU Cougars on back-to-back weeks. They end the regular season on November 29th when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on the TCU Horned Frogs. If the defense can continue to play well over these next four games, Cincinnati could be making its second College Football Playoff.
UC held Baylor to 137 yards passing, its fewest passing yards in a game since last year.
