Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback Brendan Sorsby was named to the watchlist for the 2025 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The award goes to the top upperclassmen quarterback who displays good character and achievement in athletics and academics. Last season Sheduer Sanders from Colorado won the award.
This is the fourth preseason award watch list that Sorsby has been added to. He is also on the watch list for the Davey O'Brien Award, Maxwell Award, and Manning Award.
Sorsby is entering his second season in Cincinnati, his third season in college. After an impressive year last season, passing for 2,813 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He added 447 yards and 9 touchdowns rushing, being a big threat in both the pass and run game.
Sorsby made a name for himself last season, being a bright spot on a team that had very few things to be happy about last season. With a second season in the offense and a revamped group of athletes around him, Sorsby is due for an All-Big 12 caliber season.
