Former Cincinnati Bearcat Corey Kiner is back with the Arizona Cardinals for training camp looking to make the official roster. Kiner started his career in San Francisco playing for the 49ers. He was signed as an undrafted free agent and participated in rookie minicamp, OTA's, mandatory minicamp and training camp. Kiner was looking like a hopeful addition to the 49ers running back room, before suffering an ankle injury and being waived. Kiner signed a deal to join the Minnesota Vikings practice squad on September 23rd, 2025, and spent a little over two months as a part of the team. The Cardinals signed Kiner off the Minnesota practice squad on December 2nd and joined the 53-man roster after Arizona dealt with several running back injuries during the season.
Kiner appeared in the final 4 regular season games including a game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium. He ran the ball 12 times, for a total of 58 yards, and a long rush of 9 yards. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry. He also had two receptions for 15 yards, with a long of 11 yards. His best game came against the Atlanta Falcons where he ran the ball 6 times for 32 yards.
The Cincinnati native from Roger Bacon High School is under contract through the season and is trying to carve out a role in the running back room alongside James Conner, Tyler Allgeier, Trey Benson, Bam Knight, and third overall pick Jeremiah Love from Notre Dame.
Kiner is likely to play a lot throughout thre preseason and try to make a name for himself, The Cardinals take on the Carolina Panthers on August 6th, the Las Vegas Raiders on August 13th and the Dallas Cowboys on August 22nd.
