LSU Head Football Coach Brian Kelly was fired following a 49-24 loss to the country's third-ranked team, Texas A&M. The Tigers are 5-3 (2-3 in the SEC) on the season with losses to No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 7 Ole Miss, and No. 9 Vanderbilt. Their only notable win was beating Clemson on the road to start the season when they were ranked No. 4 in the country. The Clemson Tigers are now 3-4 and in 11th place in a bad Atlantic Coast Conference.

Brian Kelly was formerly the Cincinnati Bearcats Head Coach from 2006-2009, before leaving the Bearcats for Notre Dame, notably before the biggest game in Cincinnati's history, the Sugar Bowl against the Tim Tebow Florida Gators. Kelly has a 34-6 record in his time at Cincinnati and is now a hated figure around Cincinnati.

Kelly was the head coach at Notre Dame from 2010 to 2021, before former Cincinnati Bearcats defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman took over in 2022 when Kelly left for LSU. Kelly had a record of 34-13 at LSU, something that doesn't scream awful, but something that could definitely been improved upon, considering they had Jayden Daniels, and tons of missed opportunities in 2024 and 2025.
