Cincinnati Bearcats alum and former NBA draft pick James White continues to find success on the Minnesota Timberwolves coaching staff!

Minnesota opened the playoffs with a dominant 120-95 victory over the Phoenix Suns in Game 1 and will try to take a 2-0 series lead on Tuesday.

The Cincinnati product was brought on as the Timberwolves player development coach last August after being a G-League assistant coach.

White spent one year on the Iowa Wolves staff before being signed by Minnesota and helping the Timberwolves finish with a 56-26 record.

After earning McDonald's All-American honors in high school, White went to Florida as a freshman and then spent three seasons with Cincinnati.

During his memorable career with the Bearcats, White won the conference tournament in 2004 and scored a team-high 15.9 points as a senior!

Timberwolves coach Chris Finch discussed the decision to hire White in a press release as the franchise prepared for the current campaign.

“We've put an emphasis on staff development, rewarding the hard work and dedication those on our coaching staff make to the organization."
