A scoreless stretch in the second half was too much to overcome as the Cincinnati Bearcats lost 75-57 against the TCU Horned Frogs today.

Cincinnati trailed 8-0 in the opening minutes before battling back to take a slight lead but TCU eventually pulled away after halftime.

It marked the Bearcats first double-digit loss in conference play as TCU appeared to be a more complete and consistent team on Saturday.

Wes Miller’s team dropped to 16-11 following a second consecutive loss and a berth in the 2024 NCAA Tournament seems to be slipping away.

Bearcats point guard DaVeon Thomas compiled a team-high 13 points, three rebounds and two assists but it wasn't enough to secure a win.

Cincinnati was hoping to bounce back from a third straight home loss and pick up a quality victory until TCU ran away in the second half.

In addition to allowing 25 points via fastbreaks, the Bearcats committed 17 turnovers and trailed by as much as 22 points during the recent loss.

With a critical road trip to take on rival Houston coming up next, Cincinnati will attempt to snap a 10-game losing streak against the Big 12 foe.
