A strong second half defensive effort fueled the Cincinnati Bearcats to an 81-77 win in overtime against the TCU Horned Frogs on Tuesday!

Cincinnati got off to a slow start as TCU scored 20 points in just over four minutes to help take a double digit lead midway through the first half.

The Bearcats defense tightened up and forward Daniel Skillings Jr made a pair of free throws to cut TCU's lead to 33-32 heading into halftime.

With just three seconds remaining in regulation, Skillings stepped up to the line with a chance to take a lead before missing both free throws.

During the final seconds of overtime, Skillings slipped past his defender and scored off the glass to give the Bearcats a 79-77 advantage.

Skillings scored 13 points, six rebounds and two assists in the win, while DaVeon Thomas totaled a team-high 21 points to go with six assists.

There were several standout performances including Bearcats forward John Newman III racking up 20 points and seven rebounds.

Wes Miller's team will now shift their focus to facing the 15th ranked Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday afternoon inside Fifth Third Arena!
