Cincinnati Bearcats forward John Newman III reflected on a special Senior Day ceremony in the postgame press conference on Saturday!
Following a blowout victory against Big 12 foe West Virginia, Newman explained how it felt to be honored in the Bearcats annual celebration.
“It was great with just so much love everywhere. I wanted to leave a legacy here and I could feel the love so it was just a special moment for me."
Newman put up 14 points, six rebounds and four assists to help the Bearcats run away from West Virginia 92-56 during the regular season finale!

Cincinnati held a 36-29 lead at halftime before outscoring West Virginia 56-27 in the second half to finish the regular season on a high note.
In addition to totaling a 37-23 rebounding edge, the Bearcats scored 48 points in the paint and 27 points off turnovers against West Virginia.
Newman began his career with Clemson before transferring to Cincinnati in 2021 and becoming one of the best players on the team this season.
Wes Miller's team improved to 18-13 with the runaway win and will look to keep the season alive in the Big 12 Tournament next week!
