A series of players announced their transfer to the Cincinnati Bearcats in recent days including Virginia Tech cornerback Derrick Canteen!

Cincinnati native and former Ohio State tight end Joe Royer committed to the Bearcats and is set to represent his hometown school next season.

Other recent transfer additions for the Bearcats include New Mexico State defensive back Mehki Miller and UTEP wide receiver Tyrin Smith.

Smith will have two years of eligibility left after posting 123 catches for 1,800 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in three seasons at UTEP.

Canteen had 43 tackles and one interception in 13 games with the Hokies last season and will have just one year of eligibility remaining.

Miller put up 53 tackles, four pass deflections and two interceptions at New Mexico State and should add depth to the Bearcats secondary.

Royer was the 5th ranked recruit from Ohio in the 2020 recruiting class before racking up 24 receiving yards in 14 games with the Buckeyes.
