Cincinnati Bearcats defensive coordinator Bryan Brown is on the move after opting to depart for a job at his alma mater the Ole Miss Rebels.

During one season under Brown, the Bearcats defense was ranked 12th in the conference by allowing 30.0 points per game this past year.

Scott Satterfield's staff will replace Brown in the coming days as Notre Dame cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens is expected to be a candidate!

Tulane defensive coordinator Greg Gasparato and Wisconsin defensive coach Greg Scruggs are among other potential targets as well.

Gasparato was set to be apart of the Bearcats defensive staff last season before eventually accepting the defensive coordinator at Troy.

Mickens earned All-Big East honors in his career at Cincinnati and was the Bearcats cornerbacks coach in 2019 before later joining Notre Dame.

Scruggs is a Cincinnati native and the Bearcats defensive line coach in 2021 prior to holding the same position with Wisconsin this season.

There are several others that are in the mix to be named defensive coordinator including Bearcats current defensive line coach Walter Stewart!
