Cincinnati Football: Bearcats running backs coach De'Rail Sims departs for Tennessee
By Charles Post
According to recent reports, Cincinnati Bearcats running backs coach De'Rail Sims departed for the same job with the Tennessee Volunteers.
Cincinnati was third in the Big 12 and sixth in the country with 217.1 rush yards per game during the only season with Sims on the coaching staff.
Sims had other previous stints at East Carolina, James Madison and Louisville before following head coach Scott Satterfield to Cincinnati.
The Bearcats rushing attack was fueled by star running back Corey Kiner, who surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career.

Even though it was a disappointing inaugural Big 12 campaign, Kiner was one of the bright spots and that should continue into his senior season.
Kiner eclipsed the 100-yard mark for a sixth time last season, putting up a team-high 106 rushing yards on 18 carries in the season-ending loss.
The Cincinnati product and Roger Bacon High School standout was the first Bearcats running back to have 1,000 rushing yards since in 2021.
