Kentucky native and Louisville transfer defensive back Josh Minkins announced his commitment to the Cincinnati Bearcats on Tuesday evening!

Minkins spent the last four years with Louisville and was originally expected to transfer to West Virginia before later flipping to the Bearcats.

The Louisville product compiled 99 tackles and one sack plus two interceptions with Louisville, highlighted by a career-high 55 tackles in 2022.

With an opportunity to cap off his career on a high note, Minkins will reunite with head coach Scott Satterfield heading into next season.

Cincinnati native and former Ohio State tight end Joe Royer committed to the Bearcats and is set to represent his hometown program in 2024!

Other recent transfer additions for the Bearcats include New Mexico State defensive back Mehki Miller and UTEP wide receiver Tyrin Smith.

Royer was the 5th ranked recruit from Ohio in the 2020 recruiting class before racking up 24 receiving yards in 14 games with the Buckeyes.

Smith will have two years of eligibility left after posting 123 catches for 1,800 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in three seasons at UTEP.
