A clip surfaced on X/Twitter this week from the Roll Blob Podcast featuring the Xavier Musketeers' new head basketball coach, Richard Pitino, and the Crosstown Shootout was the big talking point.

"We need to shut these people up", said Pitino when talking about Cincinnati Bearcat fans already talking trash before the game. The clip made its way to a lot of Xavier and Cincinnati fans across X and created a lot of fun discourse.

"When I first took the job, it was like 'eh, what's the deal? ' You know what I mean, we're in the Big East we're not in the Big 12". Pitino makes the point that how could a non-conference game mean so much weight to the college basketball fans in Cincinnati.

"I certainly know it's important to a lot of people, more and more people are coming up to me and talking about the Crosstown Shootout"
