Marcus Johnson, a 4-star athlete from the class of 2026 who was committed to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes, has decommitted and reopened his recruiting. Before committing to Ohio State, the Bearcats were heavily involved in Johnson's recruitment, making his top five schools before he originally chose the Buckeyes.

Along with the Cincinnati Bearcats, Johnson has also heard from Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, Arkansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Syracuse, USC, and South Carolina. Of those schools, Indiana, Syracuse, and Illinois were the only schools heavily involved in his recruitment before his commitment to Ohio State.

Johnson attends Garfield Heights High School in Ohio and is the No. 26 player on ESPN's top 100. Johnson is the No. 2 player in the state of Ohio, the No. 4 player in the region, and the No. 8 player at the point guard position.
