As the college football regular season comes to an end and the college football playoff bracket is finalized, we are officially in bowl season. This season, their are 35 bowl games excluding the NY6 bowl games that take place during the college football playoff.
The Cincinnati Bearcats will be taking on the Navy Midshipmen in this year's Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee. The game will take place at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on January 2nd at 4:30 on ESPN. The Midshipmen finished 9-2 this season, finishing third in the American Conference behind Tulane and North Texas. Their two losses came against North Texas (31-17) and Notre Dame (49-10).
This is the 67th year of the Liberty Bowl; the Bearcats previously played in the 53rd Liberty Bowl in 2011 against the Vanderbilt Commodores, winning 31-24. Isiash Pead ran for 149 yards and a touchdown, along with George Winn running for 78 yards and a touchdown on 6 carries. Zach Collaros only passed for 80 yards, Cincinnati's leading receiver being Travis Kelce, who caught 3 passes for 29 yards.
