The Cincinnati Bearcats lost three starters from the offensive line: Luke Kandra, Tinsley, and John Williams.
"We lost some great players from last year, those guys have been two-year starters for us, and they are huge losses," said Satterfield. "We knew we needed to go out and get some experience."
The Bearcats added experience to their offensive line with the additions of Joe Cotton and Taran Tyo through the Transfer Portal.
Cotton stands at 6-foot-7, 315 pounds and was one of the most sought-after offensive tackles in the portal. Cotton played at South Dakota last season and got all-conference honors.
Taran Tyo is a 6-foot-4, 325-pound offensive guard who thrives when run blocking. Satterfield said that team captain Gavin Gerhardt, starting center for the Bearcats, has taken him under his wing and expects a big year out of him.
"We have really good depth up front," said Satterfield. "Tawee Walker is the running back we brought in and think he can be really good for us"
With the offensive line being revamped and having depth, it sets up the Bearcats to have a dominant run game next season with the addition of Walker.
Walker transferred to UC after playing at Wisconsin last season, where he ran for 864 yards on 190 carries, finding the endzone 10 times. Walker averaged 4.5 yards per carry, and between him and returner Evan Pryor, the Bearcats should have no problem with replacing the hole that Corey Kiner left.
"This is a deep conference; anyone can win it, including the Cincinnati Bearcats," said Satterfield. "This is our best team since I've been there, top to bottom."
Satterfield has a lot of praise for the Bearcats this upcoming season, and so should the fans. The Bearcats have put together a great roster that can compete for a Big 12 championship and will.
