Three former Bearcats continue their journeys with international deals

Troy Caupain (2013-2017)

Troy Caupain played all 4 of his collegiate basketball years with the Bearcats and averaging 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. Caupain was named First Team All-AAC in 2015-16 when he lead the team, averaging 13.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, and was named Second Team All-AAC in 2016-17, averaging 10.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.

The Bearcats made the NCAA tournament all 4 years of Caupain's career, losing in the Round of 64 twice and the Round of 32 twice. Caupain was briefly in the NBA appearing in 4 games for the Orlando Magic in 2018-19 averaging 2.5 points across those 4 games.

Caupain signed with the Pallacanestro Reggiana of the Lega Basket Serie A.

John Newman III (2021-2024)

John Newman III played at Cincinnati from 2021 to 2024 after transferring in from Clemson after the 2020 season. Newman averaged 8.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in two full seasons as a Bearcat. Newman missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a meniscus injury and came back the next season and earned All-Big 12 defensive honors.

Newman was the defensive anchor and leader on the 2023-24 season and still remains attached to the program, visiting earlier this week to help coach Miller.

Newman signed with Niners Chemnitz of the Basketball Bundesliga and the Fiba Europe Cup.

Ody Oguama (2021-2024)

In Ody Oguama's three seasons as a Bearcat after transferring in from Wake Forest, he averaged 4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 97 games. in 2022-23, Oguama appeared in all 36 games that season and was given the team's defensive player of the year award.

Oguama signed with Dziki Warszawa of the Polish Basketball League.
