Jerrod Calhoun is bringing yet another one of his players from the 2025-26 Utah State Aggies team that went 29-7 (15-5), making it to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. Elijah Perryman is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound guard from San Francisco, California, who averaged 14 minutes per game last season for the Aggies. In those 14 minutes a game, Perryman averaged 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, while shooting 44% from the field, 30% from three-point range, and 80% from the free-throw line. Perryman has a lot of upside, the freshman was a 3-star prospect out of Clayton Valley High School and didn't hold many other mid-major offers.
Perryman's best game of the season came against Fresno State at home, where he scored a season-high 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists. Perryman made 5 of his 6 shots from the field, 4 of them being three-pointers. Perryman shows great potential to be a pass-first point guard who can knock down shots deep when he is needed to. His athleticism is surprisingly good around the rim when get downhill with a less athletic defender on him-- something he won't see as often in the Big 12, but he will also likely blossom into a more gifted driver with time.
Perryman joins a loaded backcourt with Tylen Riley from Tulsa, Myles Colvin from Wake Forest, and Trevian Carson from North Dakota State. Perryman will be able to learn from some veteran players before he takes over as the premier guard in future years.
Welcome to Cincinnati, @ElijahPerryman1!
