Scott Satterfield made an appearance on the main stage at Big 12 Media in Frisco, Texas, at the Dallas Cowboys' global headquarters at 1:20 eastern and talked about the current state of the Football Program.
"We are a more explosive football team this year," said Satterfield. "More speed, more aggressiveness, being able to win 1 on 1 battles"
Satterfield talked about the Additions of Jeff Caldwell, Cyrus Allen, and Caleb Goodie, all of whom came to Cincinnati through the Transfer Portal.
Satterfield said, "Wide Receiver had always been a spot we needed an upgrade... we lost some great players last year"
All three of the Bearcats' top receivers from last season are gone, with Xzaiver Henderson leaving for the Buffalo Bills, Tony Johnson transferring to Miami, Florida, and Jamoi Meyers going to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Caldwell is your typical big-body wideout who will create matchup issues in the red zone and vertically down the field.
Goodie is a smaller and quicker slot receiver who plays in the middle of the Field. He will bring matchup issues when in man coverage against slower defenders as well as when he finds space.
Allen can play everywhere on the field and is expected to do so. He played in the slot, out wide, and in the backfield when he was at Texas A&M and is going to play a lot of roles for the Bearcats this season.
Satterfield has a lot of praise for the new group of receivers brought in, saying, "We really tried to address that group through the portal, and I think we did a great job".
