A Star’s Holdout Has Been A Huge Benefit For Anthony McClung

For those who follow Bearcats after they graduate or leave early must know that star receiver Anthony McClung was signed to the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in May. Being an undrafted free agent isn’t always a rosy situation, but ask former Bearcat Kenbrell Thompkins sometimes all you need is a shot.

Andre Johnson who is an all-time great is holding out and nobody knows if he will return soon or will be traded. With Johnson holding out it allows McClung to get more reps with the team. If McClung impresses the Texans brass with his extra reps he may be able to hold on to a roster spot and if not for the Texans maybe somebody else.

If Johnson doesn’t return this year somebody has to reap the benefit of the extra pass opportunities, why not it be McClung? After DeAndre Hopkins nobody else is a known commodity at receiver which bodes well for McClung

Bearcat fans keep an eye out on our buddy he may be getting a lot of TV time in the Texas area this season.
