The Cincinnati Bearcats have lost a commitment in the 2015 class, with cornerback Josh Norwood opening up his recruitment this morning according to Bill Kurelic of 247 Sports.
The Valdosta, Georgia product had been verballed to UC since June 21st. At that time, the 6’0″, 165 lbs cornerback was rated by Rivals only as a two-star recruit with offers from Duke, Minnesota, and Purdue, among other smaller programs. Norwood looked excellent on film and his recruitment really picked up steam after committing to the Bearcats.
After flying under the radar for months, several recruiting services noted him as a mid-three star prospect, with Rivals bumping him up into the same range as well. The Ohio State Buckeyes even got in on the mix, offering Norwood on October 8th. He’s scheduled to visit Columbus this weekend when OSU hosts Illinois with Wisconsin in the headlights as well.
But it seems like so many other recruits who this staff got in on early (Antonio Howard, Hunter Atkinson, etc.), Cincinnati wasn’t able to hang onto him and Norwood is electing to take those visits as an uncommitted prospect.
