College Football: Week 10 in the AAC

facebooktwitterreddit

Last week was a great week for the Bearcats minus Gunner Kiel getting hurt right before halftime at home again. We learned via our own Chris Bains that Gunner will play in Tulane, but hopefully it’s a blowout and Munchie gets some clock in his home state. The Bearcats defensive stepped up in a huge way to give #BearcatNation hope during the home stretch in this tight AAC title race, by dominating in two games in a row (SMU and USF).

UCF continues to win (defeated Temple last week) in conference. The bad thing for the Bearcats is they don’t play UCF so they need one of our AAC enemies to take care of business for us especially with us already having a loss in the conference. The bright side is UCF plays ECU so that gives us hope, but puts more pressure on the Bearcats to win in two weeks for ECU.

I know I jumped the gun a little bit, but I’m happy on how the defense has seemed to turn it around fingers crossed the improvement keeps happening.

Friday 10/31

Cincinnati @ Tulane, ESPN 2, 8 PM

Tulsa @ Memphis, ESPNU, 8 PM

Saturday 11/1

UCF @ Connecticut, CBS Sports Network, Noon

#23 East Carolina @ Temple, ESPNEWS, Noon

Houston @ South Florida, ESPNEWS, 4 PM

The game that I will be watching closely is Houston/USF, Houston has been flying under the radar in the AAC. They only have one loss in the conference so if they keep winning the matchup between Cincinnati and Houston could be a big time showdown at Paul Brown Stadium. You also know I’ll be watching the Bearcats, but hopefully they ride their positive momentum and make easy work of Tulane.

Let us know which games you will be paying attention to. I’m out until next week, PEACE!!
