Most teams from the American Athletic Conference weren’t able to start the season with a win including Cincinnati as the conference combined to go just 4-7 last week. All 11 programs will be back in action this week with nine opening as favorites. Check out the predictions and spreads via WynnBET for every AAC school during Week 2.

Cincinnati Football: Week 2 predictions, spreads for every AAC school

Louisville at Central Florida (-6)

After opening the season with a blowout win, the Knights will host ACC foe Louisville on Friday night on ESPN2. Central Florida opened as 6-point favorites with the over/under currently set at 61.5 points. Coming off a disappointing showing at Syracuse, the Cardinals will be desperate for a win but I’m expecting the Knights to remain undefeated.

Lafayette at Temple (-18.5)

Following a blowout loss to Duke last week, the Owls head home to play Lafayette on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Temple is favored by 18.5 points, while the moneyline opened at -1400 and over/under is 40 points. It would definitely be a surprise if Lafayette was able to pull off an upset but the spread (-18.5) might be too much for Temple to cover.

Memphis (-7) at Navy

In the only matchup between conference opponents this week, Memphis will travel to Navy for a matchup at 3:30 PM on Saturday. Both teams lost in the season opener but the Tigers opened as 7-point favorites prior to kick off. It should be a relatively competitive game and I think Memphis is able to avoid an 0-2 start but Navy (+7) covers the spread.

Kennesaw State at Cincinnati (-28)

The Bearcats return home this weekend with a chance to bounce back from the season-opening loss at Arkansas. Kennesaw State comes to town as 28-point underdogs and Cincinnati should be able to get up by double digits in the first half. The over/under is 48.5 points and I’m expecting the Bearcats (-28) to cover the spread and win easily.

Houston at Texas Tech (-3)

Most of the games this week are projected to be blowouts but this matchup should come down to the wire. Houston survived a triple overtime road trip to UTSA, while Texas Tech blew past Murray State. The Red Raiders opened as 3-point favorites with kick off scheduled for Saturday at 4:00 PM on FS1. I’m leaning Houston (+3) and over (66) point total.

Old Dominion at East Carolina (-13)

Both programs played an ACC opponent in Week 1 as Old Dominion took down Virginia Tech for the second time in school history, while East Carolina nearly upset North Carolina State before falling one point short. The Pirates are favored by 13 which seems a little too high so I’m picking the road team to cover.

Alcorn State at Tulane (-33.5)

With a trip to Kansas State coming up next week, the Green Wave are hoping to earn another easy win over Alcorn State to remain unbeaten. In the season opener, Tulane blew past UMass 42-10 and this week should be a similar story. I’m not sure if the teams will hit the over/under (58.5) but Tulane should pick up another win on Saturday night.

Lamar at SMU (-47.5)

The biggest spread of the week is SMU hosting Lamar as 47.5-point favorites with the over/under at 61 points. It should be another blowout for the Mustangs, who are coming off a 48-10 win over North Texas. Tanner Mordecai threw for 432 yards and four touchdowns in the season opener and will look to cover a massive spread against Lamar.

Howard at South Florida (-35.5)

Another game that isn’t expected to be close is South Florida facing Howard at home on Saturday night. Despite losing 50-21 to BYU last week, the Bulls are 35.5-point favorites with a moneyline of -50000. It’s unlikely Howard will be able to hang into the second half but there’s a good chance South Florida fails to score enough to cover 35.5 points.

Northern Illinois at Tulsa (-5.5)

In addition to Texas Tech hosting Houston and Navy meeting Memphis, this is the only other single digit spread. Tulsa played well but lost to Wyoming in overtime last week, while Northern Illinois fought off Eastern Illinois at home. The Golden Hurricane are favored by 5.5 points and should be able to secure a win by at least a touchdown.
