After starting conference play with a win at Tulsa last weekend, the Cincinnati Bearcats return to Nippert Stadium for Homecoming against South Florida on Saturday. Check out our Week 6 preview with odds, predictions and more as kick off quickly approaches!

South Florida has struggled in recent weeks with blowout losses to Louisville and East Carolina after nearly pulling off an upset at Florida in September. Cincinnati should take advantage of a defense that gives up 38.0 points and 487.4 yards per game.

The Bulls haven’t been able to create pressure with only seven sacks in five games so Ben Bryant should have plenty of time to find Tyler Scott and Tre Tucker for big plays. If the Bearcats can jump out to an early lead, it will be a long day for South Florida’s defense.

Cincinnati comes into the matchup averaging 40.2 points and 439.8 yards per game, which will likely continue against the conference’s worst defense. If the offense finds a rhythm, Bryant could surpass 300+ passing yards for the fourth time in six games.

  • Date: Saturday, October 8 at 2:30 PM
  • Location: Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati
  • TV Broadcast: ESPN+ and fuboTV
  • All-Time Series: Bearcats (12-7)

Defensively, the Bearcats have to contain former Baylor quarterback Gerry Bohanon and a talented backfield including running backs Brian Battie and Jaren Mangham. Bohanon is just as dangerous on the ground with 210 rushing yards this season.

According to WynnBET, Cincinnati is favored by 28 points this week and I’m predicting the Bearcats will extend its home win streak to 30 with a 48-17 win on Saturday afternoon. Luke Fickell discussed the upcoming matchup per Cincinnati Athletics.

"“I expect a team that’s going to come in here fighting, scratching and clawing. They have a lot of talent and speed on both sides of the football. The quarterback is not new, obviously he was a starter last year at Baylor, played 12 games and led them to the championship. But he didn’t come until the fall so I think they probably had a pretty good idea the first 4-5 games were going to be a bit of development. Maybe they aren’t where they want to be but I believe they have the pieces and talent. It’s a group that any time their back is against the wall, you know you’re going to get their best.”"
