The Bearcats revamped coaching staff was able to flip former Louisville commit and 3-star cornerback Rayquan Adkins this morning alongside a slew of talented incoming recruits.

Adkins is the 86th highest ranked cornerback in the country according to 247 Sports and previously committed to Louisville last March before switching to the Bearcats today.

It was important for newly-named head coach Scott Satterfield and defensive coordinator Bryan Brown to flip at least one commit on early signing day and Adkins was a key target to add.

The Florida native took an official visit to Cincinnati in early December and visited Louisville last week. Adkins received offers from Miami, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Toledo and others.

In addition to adding Adkins on early signing day, the Bearcats announced commitments from 13 recruits including fellow former Louisville safety commit Jayden Davis and multiple transfers.

Satterfield was able to bring over several assistant coaches from Louisville and that was integral in recruiting Adkins and Davis, plus a pair of recent transfers additions from the Cardinals.

Cincinnati native and former Louisville offensive guard Luke Kandra announced his decision to transfer this month followed by sophomore linebacker Dorian Jones transferring yesterday.

Adkins helps improve the Bearcats class that includes dynamic defensive prospects in defensive lineman Kamari Burns, linebacker Trevor Carter, edge rusher Brian Simms III and more.
