Utah Valley jumped out to a double digit lead in the opening minutes behind an impressive start from former UNLV guard Trey Woodbury, while the Bearcats started 4/17 from the field.
Wes Millerās team ended the first half on a 20-14 run as Landers Nolley II knocked down a pair of 3-pointers to cut into the deficit but Utah Valley was able to take a 39-33 lead into halftime.
David DeJulius led Cincinnati with 12 points and three assists in the first half, while Woodbury scored 12 points on 5/8 shooting from the field to fuel the Wolverines alongside Justin Harmon.

Cincinnati advanced to the NIT quarterfinals with a 79-65 win at HofstraĀ on Saturday afternoon. DeJulius and Nolley II combined for 35 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds in the road victory.
Other players to watch in the quarterfinals matchup includeĀ Bearcats frontcourt duo Viktor Lakhin and Ody Oguama, plus Utah Valley centerĀ Aziz Bandaogo and forward Tim Fuller.
The only previous meeting between the programs took place on December 11, 2010 as Rashad Bishop and Cashmere Wright ledĀ Cincinnati to a 92-72 win over Utah ValleyĀ at Fifth Third Arena.
