Cincinnati Football: Taj Ward included among Big 12’s highest graded returning cornerbacks

Cincinnati veteran cornerback Taj Ward was recently included among the Big 12’s highest graded returning cornerbacks per Pro Football Focus.

During his junior campaign with the Bearcats, Ward recorded 20 tackles, four pass deflections and one interception in 13 games last season.

The Cincinnati product was mentioned alongside serval elite cornerbacks including Iowa State senior TJ Tampa and TCU senior Josh Newton!

Ward is expected to have a significant role in the Bearcats secondary next season along with Sammy Anderson Jr, Todd Bumphis and others.

Bearcats defensive line duo Dontay Corleone and Daniel Grzesiak were included on the Sports Info Solutions Preseason All-Big 12 Defensive Team!

Corleone racked up 45 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles last season, highlighted by a career-high 11 tackles against Navy in November.

Grzesiak was one of the most sought after players in the transfer portal after totaling 52 tackles and 8.5 sacks throughout his lone season at Utah State.

Jones displayed his elite dual-threat ability during the spring scrimmage and should be named starting quarterback going into fall camp.

Pace is a key player to keep an eye on moving forward as the Cincinnati native is set to play a hybrid of linebacker and safety next season.
