Cincinnati Basketball: A pair of former Bearcats standouts participate in NBA Summer League

A pair of former Cincinnati Bearcats players Landers Nolley II and Tre Scott participated in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this week!

Check out our reaction to the New Orleans Pelicans decision to sign Nolley as un undrafted free agent following the 2023 NBA Draft in June.

Nolley became the eighth player in program history to earn a spot on the All-AAC First Team after shooting 42.3 percent from 3-point range last year.

Scott took home All-AAC First Team recognition, AAC Defensive Player of the Year and AAC Most Improved Player during his senior season.

Following his career at Cincinnati, Scott played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2021 and had previous stints with three G-League teams.

Nasty Nati consists of eight former Bearcats alongside Scott including All-AAC performers Jarron Cumberland, Jacob Evans and Keith Williams.

Other players that are expected to represent Nasty Nati are former Cincinnati standouts Troy Caupain, Octavius Ellis and Shaq Thomas.

There were several notable Summer League standouts that faced the Bearcats last season, highlighted by Indiana Pacers forward Jarace Walker.

Cincinnati Basketball: Landers Nolley II looks to make an impact in the NBA Summer League

After being signed by the New Orleans Pelicans, former Bearcats star Landers Nolley II will play in the NBA Summer League this month!

During his lone season at Cincinnati, Nolley scored a team-high 16.8 points and 5.8 rebounds en route to receiving All-AAC First Team honors.

NBA Draft analyst and scout Adam Spinella explained what to expect from Nolley at the next level in a recent article from Pelican Debrief.

The Pelicans are scheduled to wrap up Summer League pool play against the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night at 7:30 PM on NBATV.
