Cincinnati standout defensive lineman Jowon Briggs is expected to bring a high level of leadership to the Bearcats talented front!

En route to receiving All-AAC First Team recognition, Briggs compiled 61 total tackles and three sacks during his senior campaign in 2022.

Scott Satterfield’s team will lean on Briggs to bring consistency, leadership and versatility as the program adjusts to Big 12 competition.

The Cincinnati native started all 13 games last year and set the tone on the interior defensive line with the third-most sacks on the team.

After beginning his career at Virginia, Briggs transferred to his hometown school in 2021 and became a full-time starter last season.

Briggs will continue to be a key part of the front alongside fellow Cincinnati product and star defensive tackle Dontay Corleone.

The defense has been a formidable force for years but they will take on new challenges in a conference known for dynamic offenses.

With a determined defensive line in place, the Bearcats have a chance to find success and secure bowl eligibility for a sixth year in a row.
