Cincinnati native and Bearcats defensive tackle Dontay Corleone was named to the Associated Press Preseason All-American First Team today!

Following a spectacular freshman season, Corleone also picked up Walter Camp Preseason All-American First Team honors in recent months.

Scott Satterfield’s coaching staff looks to continue building momentum entering the Big 12 and Corleone will be a significant part to the success.

With a determined and experienced defensive front in place, Corleone and company are hoping to make noise in the inaugural Big 12 campaign.

Corleone compiled 45 total tackles and three sacks last year, highlighted by a career-high 11 tackles in a 20-10 win over Navy in November.

Heading into the season opener next month, Corleone was placed on a pair of preseason watch lists including the Nagurski and Outland Trophy.

Moving to the Big 12 will certainly come with plenty of obstacles but Corleone is expected to bring stability to the Bearcats defensive unit.

The Cincinnati product developed into a dominant force during his freshman season en route to receiving All-AAC First Team recognition.

Corleone was included among PFF College’s top defensive tackles prior to the 2024 NFL Draft alongside several other notable prospects.

Other players that are projected to start on the defensive line along with Corleone include Jowon Briggs, Malik Vann and Justin Wodtly.
