Cincinnati is hoping to stay undefeated against the Colonels as the programs continue to prepare to meet for the first time since 2008.

During the most recent matchup against Eastern Kentucky, the Bearcats won 40-7 as senior quarterback Dustin Grutza led the way.

The first-ever meeting against the Colonels took place in 2006 as Grutza racked up 161 passing yards and one touchdown in a 31-0 win.

Cincinnati should be able to pull away eventually but Eastern Kentucky’s offense has to be taken seriously in the upcoming regular season opener.

Eastern Kentucky is coming off a 7-5 campaign that continued to show progress as the offense put up 36.2 points and 452.5 yards per game.

Heading into the season opener on Saturday afternoon at Nippert Stadium, Cincinnati is hoping to start the Scott Satterfield era with a victory!

Led by quarterback Parker McKinney and running back Braedon Sloan, Eastern Kentucky’s offense could create concerns for the Bearcats defense.
