As the season officially gets underway on Saturday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bearcats are hoping to start Scott Satterfield’s tenure on a high note!

In the most recent meeting against the Colonels in 2008, the Bearcats secured a 40-7 win as senior quarterback Dustin Grutza led the way.

The first-ever battle between the programs took place in 2006 as Grutza posted 161 passing yards and one touchdown during a 31-0 win.

Cincinnati is hoping to stay undefeated against Eastern Kentucky as the programs get ready to meet on Saturday at 3:30 PM on ESPN+.

During a recent press conference, Bearcats head coach Scott Satterfield reminisced on previous matchups against the Colonels and more.

It will be difficult to contain Eastern Kentucky’s high-powered offense so Bryan Brown’s defense must avoid mishaps and limit explosive plays.

The Bearcats should be able to pull away eventually but Eastern Kentucky’s offense has to be taken seriously in the season opener this week!
