Cincinnati Football: Myles Montgomery should earn more carries moving forward
By Charles Post
Cincinnati Bearcats sophomore running back Myles Montgomery should earn more carries after putting his potential on display in a loss to the Baylor Bears.
Even though the Bearcats eventually came up short in a fifth straight loss, Montgomery added a much-needed boost alongside running back Corey Kiner.
Kiner compiled a game-high 129 rushing yards with 15 carries, and Montgomery racked up 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 10 rushes in the loss.
The Bearcats struggled to find an offensive groove until both running backs started to create explosive plays and that eventually opened up the pass game.

Following a defensive stop that allowed a chance to complete the comeback, Cincinnati couldn’t get into field goal range and later turned it over on downs.
It appeared Baylor would pull away after going up by double digits in the second quarter but the Bearcats fought back and had an opportunity to get a win.
Scott Satterfield’s team trailed 20-14 at halftime but the offense started to find a rhythm midway through the opening half to stay within striking distance.
The Bearcats return to action against the Oklahoma State Cowboys next weekend with hopes of getting in the win column for the first time in over a month.

During a postgame press conference on Saturday, Satterfield reacted to the loss against Baylor and the running back duo via Cincinnati Athletics.
The final possession came to an end as the Bearcats quarterback Emory Jones failed to connect with tight end Chamon Metayer on fourth down at midfield.
With an opportunity to cut into the deficit heading into halftime, Montgomery displayed his impressive elusiveness with a 38-yard touchdown run.
